Objetivou-se o estudo florístico e fitossociológico de duas diferentes fases serais de uma subsere em área de contato entre a Floresta Ombrófíla Densa (Atlântica) e Floresta Ombrófila Mista (com Araucária). Foram identificadas 84 espécies, distribuídas em 36 famílias botânicas para o estágio avançado. A espécie mais importante no estrato superior, foi Nectandra lanceolata Ness & Mart. ex Ness (Lauraceae). No estrato intermediário a fisionomia é dominada por Campomanesia xanthocarpa Berg., Myrcia tenuivenosa Kiaersk (Myrtaceae), Casearia sylvestris Swartz e Casearia decandra Jacq. (Flacourtiaceae). O estrato arbóreo inferior é dominado por Calyptranthes hatschbachii (Myrtaceae), Psychotria suterella Müll. Arg. e Rudgea jasminioides (Cham.) Müll. Arg. (Rubiaceae). Foram identificadas 72 espécies, distribuídas em 36 famílias botânicas para a fase intermediária. Esta é caracterizada por três estratos arbóreos, apesar de não bem definidos, tendo como principal espécie Psychotria sessilis Müll. Arg. (Rubiaceae). Ainda como espécies importantes observa-se N. lanceolata, C. sylvestris para o estrato médio e M. rigidiuscula Cogn. para o estrato inferior. Os dois estágios sucessionais apresentam diferenças evidentes, principalmente quanto à sua florística evidenciada pelas espécies dominantes, bem como em relação aos parâmetros fitossociológicos avaliados. Algumas espécies típicas da Floresta Ombrófila Densa, como Aspidosperma pyricollum Müll. Arg, Chrysophyllum viride Mart. & Eichl. ex. Miq. e Sloanea guianensis foram detectadas, ocorrendo com Araucaria angustifolia (Bert.) Kuntze e Ilex paraguariensis St. Hil. indicando a mistura (ecótono) entre a Floresta Ombrófila Densa e a Floresta Ombrófila Mista. Tal situação também pode ser interpretada como indício de uma substituição gradativa da Floresta com Araucária pela Floresta Atlântica, já que observa-se a inclusão de espécies da Atlântica com potencial de atingir grande porte, normalmente dominantes, e considerando a falta de regeneração de A. angustifolia e as espécies companheiras de sua formação florestal.Abstract: The area of study is located in Piraquara, Paraná, Brazil in worth formed among the Canal e Vigia hills (Marumbi Mountain). The goal of this study is the floristic and phytosociological analysis of two different seral phases of a subsere in contact area among the Dense Forest Ombrophilous (Atlantic) and Mixed Forest Ombrophilous (with Araucaria). It was determinated 84 species of 36 botanic families to the advanced stage of succession. The more important specie, dominating the superior layer, is Nectandra lanceolata Ness & Mart, former Ness (Lauraceae). In the intermediary layer the physiognomy is dominated by Campomanesia xanthocarpa Berg., Myrcia tenuivenosa Kiaersk (Myrtaceae). Casearia sylvestris Swartz and Casearia decandra Jacq. (Flacourtiaceae). The inferior arboreal layer is dominated by Calyptranthes hatschbachii (Myrtaceae), Psychotria suterella Müll. Arg. and Rudgea jasminioides (Cham.) Müll. Arg. (Rubiaceae). In the second seral phase was determinated 72 especies distribuied in 36 botanic families. It is characterized by presenting three arboreal layers, although not well defined, in wich the main specie is Psychotria sessilis Müll. Arg. (Rubiaceae). N. lanceolata is also an important specie for the canopy, C. sylvestris for the medium layer, and M. rigidiuscula Cogn. for the inferior layer. The two sucessional stages presents evident differences, mainly with relationship to its vertical structure, demonstrated by its respective dominant species. Some typical species of the Dense Forest Ombrophilous. as Aspidosperma pyricollum Müll. Arg, Chrysophyllum viride Mart. & Eichl. former. Miq. and Sloanea guianensis were detected in the same environment that occurs Araucaria angustifolia (Bert.) Kuntze and Ilex paraguariensis St. Hil. proving the existence of a mixture among the Dense Forest Ombrophilous and the Mixed Forest Ombrophilous.
