Defesa : Curitiba, 29/02/2024Inclui referênciasÁrea de concentração: SociologiaResumo: O trabalho a seguir surge do objetivo geral de compreender como a saída dos filhos e filhas de casa afeta as maneiras pelas quais as mulheres que são mães vivem e descrevem a si mesmas. Esta pesquisa foi construída na intersecção entre os estudos do cuidado, as pesquisas sobre maternidade e as investigações sobre as relações entre as formas coletivas de vida e a construção da subjetividade. Para atingir o propósito sobre o qual se construiu esta empreitada, foram elaborados objetivos específicos voltados sobre 1) as trajetórias biográficas dessas entrevistadas e sua relação com o arranjo familiar, 2) o contexto da saída de seus filhos e filhas de casa, 3) as mudanças práticas e subjetivas apontadas por elas a partir desse evento e 4) os discursos e significados acionados por essas mães para dar forma a essas memórias. O material de análise desta investigação advém de 11 entrevistas qualitativas, realizadas com mulheres que são mães e se dispuseram a contar as histórias das saídas de seus filhos e filhas. Após a introdução, o segundo capítulo se foca nos aspectos metodológicos da tese, discutindo as condições de objetividade à partir de uma posição científica crítica, o caminho através do qual o objeto da pesquisa veio a ser o que é, que tipo de estatuto metodológico forma os relatos analisados para, por fim, apresentando quem são as entrevistadas e como cheguei até elas. O terceiro capítulo se aprofunda na teoria do cuidado como alicerce da perspectiva analítica sobre o qual a tese é constituída. O quarto capítulo discute a pluralidade e complexidade da maternidade como um lugar subjetivo, analisando as formas pelas quais as entrevistadas se identificam enquanto mães e como essa internalidade se relaciona a um modo de subjetivação historicamente localizado. A próxima seção examina três temas: a tensão entre apoiar e desaprovar a saída e o afastamento de filhos e filhas; a exacerbada percepção de risco que passa a marcar o fluxo de consciência dessas mães; e as maneiras pelas quais cuidado, controle e tutela se relacionam no momento da saída. O penúltimo capítulo se preocupa com as imagens apropriadas pelas entrevistadas para passar pelas atribulações desse processo e para dar sentido à história contada sobre ele. Nele se destacam as imagens dos filhos enquanto infantes, das reuniões de família e da categoria psicológica conhecida como Síndrome do Ninho Vazio. Por fim, o último capítulo discute as mudanças práticas e subjetivas na vida dessas mulheres, a forma como sentimentos de perda catalisam uma reestruturação da subjetividade e como esses elementos caminham junto da identidade maternal – vivida através do tempo. Em conclusão, a compreensão das formas pelas quais vivem e descrevem a si mesmas depois da saída de seus filhos e filhas de casa aponta para uma profunda relação entre os modos de organização e significação da vida herdados de construções sociais historicamente localizadas e as formas pessoais de apropriação do mundo e construção de uma subjetividade inevitavelmente transpassada por nossas relações com os outros.Abstract: The following work aims to understand how the departure of sons and daughters from home affects the ways in which women who are mothers live and describe themselves. This research was built at the intersection between care studies, research on motherhood and investigations into the relationships between collective forms of life and the construction of subjectivity. To achieve the purpose specific goals were developed focused on 1) the biographical trajectories of these interviewees and their relationship with the family arrangement, 2) the context of their sons and daughters leaving home, 3) the practical and subjective changes pointed out by them from this event and 4) the discourses and meanings used by these mothers to shape these memories. The analysis material for this investigation comes from 11 qualitative interviews, carried out with women who are mothers and were willing to tell the stories of their sons and daughters' departures. After the introduction, the second chapter focuses on the methodological aspects of the thesis, discussing the conditions of objectivity from a critical scientific position, what is the place from which I set out to observe this phenomenon, what type of methodological status forms the reports analyzed and, finally, the presentation of who the interviewees are and how I got to them. The third chapter delves deeper into the theory of care as the foundation of the analytical perspective on which the thesis is built.The fourth chapter discusses the plurality and complexity of motherhood as a subjective place, analyzing the ways in which the interviewees identify themselves as mothers and how this internality relates to a historically located mode of subjectivation – also worrying about exploring the diversity of their experiences as mothers. In the next section three themes stand out: the tension between supporting and disapproving the departure and removal of sons and daughters; the heightened perception of risk that begins to mark these mothers' stream of consciousness; and the ways in which care, control and guardianship relate at the time of exit. The penultimate chapter is concerned with the images appropriated by the interviewees to go through the tribulations of this process and to give meaning to the story told about it. Finally, the last chapter discusses a more advanced moment in the internal chronology of the interviews, where practical and subjective changes in the lives of these women are discussed, the way in which feelings of loss catalyze a restructuring of subjectivity and how these elements go hand in hand with maternal identity. – lived through time.
