Defesa: Curitiba, 14/11/2011Bibliografia: fls. 185-192Resumo: O presente estudo que tem como tema As Mulheres de Roça Velha, Araucária - PR: as do lugar e as que chegaram investigou como se estabelecem os elementos de permanência e mudança do papel feminino na reestruturação espacial de Roça Velha, Araucária - Pr. A particularidade do estudo está na busca do entendimento de como ocorre a apreensão da realidade pelas mulheres e a construção das espacialidades femininas determinadas pelas relações de gênero e de que forma as transformações ocorridas no processo de industrialização e urbanização de Araucária rearranjaram as espacialidades cotidianas femininas. Os objetivos estabelecidos para o estudo foram analisar as espacialidades das mulheres de Roça Velha compreendendo seu gênero performativo, observando a cultura e o local, sendo para tanto necessário estruturar os fundamentos teóricos que sustentam a temática; descrever a realidade objeto do estudo; coletar dados junto aos sujeitos envolvidos; articular teoria e realidade; descrever as transformações das espacialidades das mulheres. Como embasamento teórico utilizou-se a Teoria das Representações Sociais de Serge Moscovici, a hermenêutica de Paul Ricouer, as diversas obras e escritos de Paul Claval devido à sua fundamental importância ao tratar da Geografia Cultural e as abordagens de gênero de Judith Butler, Linda Mc Dowell e Joseli Maria Silva. Em virtude da questão central desta pesquisa optou-se por desenvolver um estudo de natureza qualitativa, utilizando-se das técnicas de observação assistemática e aplicação de entrevistas não estruturadas com a mulheres definidas como sujeitos da pesquisa. Concluiu-se que os elementos de permanência do papel feminino na reestruturação espacial de Roça Velha baseiam-se na família, representada como o núcleo fundamental das relações, na representação do trabalho doméstico e a não aceitação da performatividade de gênero, manifestada pela prévia definição de papéis de sexo e gênero. Como elementos de mudança do papel feminino foram constatados a melhoria e facilidade de mobilidade, o aumento da escolaridade, a inserção no mercado de trabalho formal e a profissionalização e o acesso e uso das tecnologias que transformaram o conteúdo representacional dos papéis de gênero vivenciados pelas mulheres de Roça Velha, Araucária - PR : as do lugar e as que chegaram.Abstract: This study, entitled As Mulheres de Roça Velha, Araucária - PR: as do lugar e as que chegaram (The Women at Roça Velha, Araucária - PR: the natives and the newcomers), investigated how elements of permanence are established and how the role of women has changed in a spatial restructuring of Roça Velha, Araucária, Paraná. In particular, the study aims to understand how the women perceive their reality and how female spaces are determined due to gender relations, and how the everyday lives of women are re-organized by the transformations brought upon by industrialization and urbanization in Araucária. The objectives of the study are (a) analyzing the space occupied by Roça Velha women in their performative genre, observing the culture and the place - thus the need to structure a theoretical framework that supports the theme; (b) describing the reality that is object of the study; (c) collecting data from the participating subjects; (d) articulating theory and reality; (e) describing the transformation in the spaces occupied by women. The theoretical basis used for this study were Serge Moscovici's Theory of Social Representation, Paul Ricouer's hermeneutics, various books and articles by Paul Claval due to their seminal importance for Cultural Geography, and the approach to gender posited by Judith Butler, Linda McDowell and Joseli Maria Silva. The author chose a qualitative approach to tackle the main issue of this research by using nonsystematic observation techniques and unstructured interviews with the women selected as subjects in the study. We concluded that the elements of permanence of the female role in spatial restructuring in Roça Velha are based on the family as the fundamental nucleus of relationships, in the representation of domestic work and in the non-conformance to gender performativity, manifested by gender and sex roles defined in the past. As elements of change in the role of women we noticed an improved and easier mobility, higher levels of schooling, entry into formal labor market and the professions, and access and use of technologies that transform a representational content of gender roles experienced by the women in Roça Velha, Araucária - PR: the natives and the newcomers.192f. : il.
