Defesa : Curitiba, 25/09/2023Inclui referênciasResumo: A pesquisa aqui apresentada teve como objeto empírico a série "Sempre Bruxa" (Netflix, 2019), cuja narrativa conta a história de Carmem Eguiluz, uma mulher negra escravizada do século XVII acusada de bruxaria, que prestes a ser queimada viva na fogueira viaja no tempo com destino ao século XXI, para salvar a si mesma e ao homem que ama de seus destinos trágicos. A análise da série tem como objetivo compreender qual a imagem da mulher latino-americana está sendo construída, e exportada por meio da narrativa no contexto transnacional da plataforma da Netflix e como se dá a interseccionalidade dessa construção diante das tensões de gênero, raça, classe que se tornam inteligíveis a partir dos esquemas narrativos apresentados. Assim, o problema de pesquisa parte da seguinte questão: Como a série Sempre Bruxa traz em seu esquema explicativo narrativo a imagem da bruxa, considerando a construção da identidade da protagonista Carmem Eguiluz no contexto do século XVII e no contexto do século XXI? E como são abordadas as questões interseccionais gênero, raça e classe na apresentação e definição dessa identidade? A hipótese apresentada é de que por meio da construção narrativa é possível construir esquemas explicativos que irão mediar a relação do espectador com suas identidades político-narrativas. Por meio do escopo teórico interdisciplinar que fundamenta esta tese, foi proposta a articulação entre Comunicação, Hermenêutica, Estudos Culturais e Feminismo Negro, para apresentar um estudo que propõe a discussão da relação entre narrativa e identidade dentro de um viés interseccional. A abordagem metodológica utilizada é qualitativa e os procedimentos metodológicos adotados buscaram investigar: o contexto cultural das categorias de opressão identificadas na construção da narrativa; a análise dos esquemas narrativos presente na construção da personagem Carmem Eguiluz na sua jornada pela autodefinição e as possibilidades de leitura da identidade político-narrativa construída por meio da personagem Carmem Eguiluz. A análise se detém aos episódios da primeira temporada, analisando por meio do protocolo metodológico proposto, os elementos pré-figurativos, a configuração e a pós-figuração da narrativa. No conjunto de elaborações que foi possível chegar por meio da análise da série destaca-se: 1) os elementos pré-figurativos presentes no contexto da narrativa são abordados de forma que os símbolos e mitos oriundos da cultura iorubá são tratados de forma superficial, reforçando uma visão ahistórica e demonizada das tradições afro-culturais, 2) há na série a construção de uma personagem que traz em seu amadurecimento o desenvolvimento de uma subjetividade radical e uma identidade político-narrativa, isso se dá na medida em que a personagem ao ampliar sua visão de mundo busca não apenas obter benefícios para si mesma, no âmbito pessoal, mas passa a buscar uma atuação no mundo tendo como motivação a busca por justiça social, 3) a série, apresenta por meio de seus modelos explicativos, uma visão idealizada da mulher negra latino-americana, em que esta superou as marcas de seu processo histórico e está inserida no mundo globalizado, compactuando com visão progressista e feminista.Abstract: The research presented here had as its empirical object the series "Semper Bruxa" (Netflix, 2019), whose narrative tells the story of Carmem Eguiluz, an enslaved black woman from the 17th century accused of witchcraft, who, about to be burned alive at the stake, travels in time bound for the 21st century, to save herself and the man she loves from their tragic fates. The analysis of the series aims to understand which image of Latin American women is being constructed and exported through narrative in the transnational context of the Netflix platform and how the intersectionality of this construction occurs in the face of tensions of gender, race, class which become intelligible based on the narrative schemes presented. Thus, the research problem starts from the following question: How does the Semper Bruxa series bring the image of the witch into its explanatory narrative scheme, considering the construction of the identity of the protagonist Carmem Eguiluz in the context of the 17th century and in the context of the 21st century? And how are the intersectional issues of gender, race and class addressed in the presentation and definition of this identity? The hypothesis presented is that through narrative construction it is possible to construct explanatory schemes that will mediate the viewer's relationship with their political-narrative identities. Through the interdisciplinary theoretical scope that underlies this thesis, the articulation between Communication, Hermeneutics, Cultural Studies and Black Feminism was proposed, to present a study that proposes the discussion of the relationship between narrative and identity within an intersectional bias. The methodological approach used is qualitative and the methodological procedures adopted sought to investigate: the cultural context of the categories of oppression identified in the construction of the narrative; the analysis of the narrative schemes present in the construction of the character Carmem Eguiluz in her journey towards self-definition and the possibilities of reading the political-narrative identity constructed through the character Carmem Eguiluz. The analysis focuses on the episodes of the first season, analyzing, through the proposed methodological protocol, the prefigurative elements, the configuration and post-figuration of the narrative.
