Defesa: Curitiba, 29/08/2008Inclui bibliografiaLinha de pesquisa: História e historiografia da educaçãoResumo: O objetivo dessa pesquisa é investigar a ação da "Juventude Brasileira" na capital do Paraná, utilizando explicações históricas acerca dos caminhos percorridos pela cultura cívica que se manifestou na escola curitibana ao ser instrumentalizada por valores patrióticos construídos pela Ditadura Vargas. Apesar do recorte residir em um momento de importância da história política: o Estado Novo, este estudo opta por entender e interpretar os traços culturais escolares e cívicos da Juventude Brasileira desde os anos que se iniciam os debates sobre a necessidade de organizar os jovens brasileiros até a extinção oficial do movimento, qual seja, 1938-1945. Com o lema: "Por Deus e Pelo Brasil", a organização desse movimento passou por diversas e até mesmo, divergentes modificações ao longo de seu processo de criação. Se em 1938, Francisco Campos, Ministro da Justiça do Governo Vargas, irá propor a criação da Organização Nacional da Juventude (ONJ), será somente após várias mudanças no projeto inicial, resultantes das discussões em torno do caráter militar do movimento, que o novo titular da pasta da Educação, Gustavo Capanema, assume a responsabilidade pela criação da ONJ, fundando em 1942, a Juventude Brasileira. Com a missão de inculcar valores cívicos-patrióticos nas crianças e jovens, formar um corpo militar de elite, promover um meio de extensão escolar e auxiliar na manutenção do regime político do país, esse movimento extra-escolar marcou a educação e o imaginário social da época. Para compreender melhor esse objeto, se fez necessário aprofundar discussões em torno das aproximações da "Juventude Brasileira" com as juventudes da Europa, em especial a "Hitlerista" já que ambas tinham estratégias semelhantes de inculcação do sentimento de raça, uma extrema preocupação com a preparação física e o culto ao corpo. Este movimento esteve presente dentro do universo escolar e utilizou a escola como principal veículo da propagação de seus ideais. Participava de desfiles em datas comemorativas, tinha uniforme e distintivos próprios, calendário previamente definido e imprimia uma grande importância à preparação do corpo e exercícios físicos, delegando grande destaque à questão da eugenia, mais especificamente da raça. Também no Paraná, a "Juventude Brasileira" teve razoável expressão representada pelos vários desfiles, campanhas e cerimônias, que contavam com a participação de milhares de jovens. Diante disso, essa pesquisa suscita questionamentos que permitem refletir sobre as implicações de tal movimento no universo escolar, social, cultural do país no Estado Novo: Qual foi a intensidade da atuação da "Juventude Brasileira" no Paraná? De que forma este movimento influenciou na educação escolar? Como o movimento e sua atuação contribuíram para a construção de um imaginário coletivo nos jovens escolares que dele participaram? Até que ponto a "Juventude Brasileira" buscou inspiração na "Juventude Hitlerista", da Alemanha? Para o trabalho de análise, esta pesquisa utiliza referências bibliográficas sobre o período, e fontes como os jornais curitibanos Gazeta do Povo e Diário da Tarde, e a Imprensa Escolar, que consiste em um conjunto jornais escolares financiados para enaltecer o regime. Além destes, um conjunto de livros, revistas, fotografias, legislação que estão depositados no CPDOC (Centro de Pesquisa e Documentação Contemporânea).Abstract: The objective of this research is the analysis of the action of "Brazilian Youth" in the capital of the Paraná, being used historical explanations concerning the ways covered for the civic culture that if revealed in the Curitiba's school to the being instrumentalized by patriotic values constructed by Vargas Dictatorship. Although the research to inhabit in a moment of importance of brazilian history politics: the New State, this study opts to understanding and interpreting the pertaining to school and civic cultural traces of Brazilian Youth since the years that if initiate the debates on the necessity to organize the young Brazilians until the official extinguishing of the movement, which are, 1938-1945.With the slogan: "For God and Brazil", the organization of this movement passed even though for diverse and, divergent modifications throughout its process of creation. If in 1938, Francisco Campos, Minister of the Justice of the Vargas Government, it will go to consider the creation of the National Organization of Youth (ONJ), will be only after some changes in the initial project, resultant of the discussions around the military character of the movement, that the new bearer of the folder of the Education, Gustavo Capanema, assumes the responsibility for the creation of the ONJ, establishing in 1940, Brazilian Youth. With the mission of to instil civic-patriotic values in the children and young people, forming a military body of the elite, to promote a way of pertaining to school extension and to assist in the maintenance of the country's regimen politician, this extra-pertaining to school movement marked the education and the social imaginary once. To understand this object better, if it made necessary to deepen discussions around the approaches of "Brazilian Youth" with youths of the Europe, in special the "Hitler Youth" since both had similar strategies of instill of the race feeling, an extreme concern with the physical preparation and the cult of the body. This movement was present inside of the pertaining to school universe and used the school as main vehicle of the propagation of its ideals. It participated of parades in commemorative dates, had proper uniform and badges, calendar previously defined and printed a great importance to the preparation of the body and physical exercises, delegating great prominence to the eugenics questions, more specifically of the race. Also in the Paraná State, "Brazilian Youth" had reasonable expression represented for some parades, campaigns and ceremonies, that counted on the participation of thousand of young. Ahead of this, this research excites questionings that allow to reflect on the implications of such movement in the pertaining to school universe, social, cultural of the Brazil in the New State: Which was the intensity of the performance of "Brazilian Youth"; in the Paraná State As the movement and its activities influenced in the pertaining to school education? How the movement and its performance had contributed for the imaginary construction of a collective one in the young pertaining to school that of it had participated? Until point "Brazilian Youth" searched inspiration in "Hitler Youth", of Germany? For the analysis work, this research uses bibliographical references on the period, and sources as Curitiba's newspapers "Gazeta do Povo" and "Diário da Tarde", and the "Imprensa Escolar" , that consists of a set pertaining to school periodicals financed to praise the regimen.
