Defesa : Curitiba, 27/09/2019Inclui referências: p. 109-127Resumo: O presente trabalho tem a finalidade de investigar como se deu o crescente uso de tecnologias e sua relação com o desenvolvimento do turismo na Ilha do Mel, no Estado do Paraná. O turismo ocupa uma posição de destaque na economia mundial com projeções benéficas para o Brasil, sendo a principal atividade econômica atual na Ilha do Mel, local que comporta vários segmentos turísticos, onde o turismo de sol e mar tem sido o mais procurado. Com a globalização ascendente e os constantes desenvolvimentos das tecnologias de comunicação e informação, novas formas de produção e distribuição de bens e serviços surgiram, correlacionado o local com o global. A metodologia usada foi um estudo de caso, através de uma pesquisa exploratória com metodologia qualitativa e quantitativa, com técnicas de revisão bibliográfica, análise documental e entrevistas. Consultando-se a literatura, descreveu-se como eram as instalações de infraestrutura e quais as tecnologias utilizadas nos primórdios da atividade turística e de lazer, fase na qual o turismo foi considerado elitizado. Após um período de estagnação, a atividade turística voltou a crescer e, frente a esse novo mercado promissor, empreendedores migraram para a Ilha em maior número após a implantação da energia elétrica, aumentando toda a infraestrutura turística na localidade. O marketing de divulgação turística da Ilha expandiu-se consideravelmente com o advento da Internet e, no presente, o uso dos aplicativos via celular beneficia o empreendedor e o turista. Na discussão dos resultados constatou-se que a Ilha encontra-se integrada às tecnologias de comunicação e informação e que, segundo os entrevistados, em decorrência do uso destas tecnologias, o fluxo turístico teve um aumento significativo. As tecnologias de comunicação e informação trouxeram mudanças no comportamento dos turistas e os empreendedores buscam se atualizar tecnologicamente para atender às novas demandas. Os principais fatos relacionados com a introdução de tecnologias na Ilha do Mel e os acontecimentos que ocasionaram transformações no cotidiano são demonstrados na matriz de periodização. Palavras-chave: Ilha do Mel, turismo, globalização, tecnologias.Abstract: This paper aims to investigate the increasing use of technologies and their relationship with the development of tourism in Ilha do Mel, State of Paraná. Tourism occupies a prominent position in the world economy with beneficial projections for Brazil, being the main current economic activity in Ilha do Mel, a place that has several tourist segments, but sun and sea tourism has been the most sought after. With rising globalization and the constant development of communication and information technologies, new forms of production and distribution of goods and services have emerged, correlating local with global. The methodology used was a case study, through an exploratory research with qualitative and quantitative methodology, with techniques of literature review, document analysis and interviews. Referring to the literature, we described what the infrastructure facilities were like and what technologies were used in the early days of tourism and leisure, at which stage tourism was considered elite. After a period of stagnation, tourist activity grew again and, in view of this promising new market, entrepreneurs migrated to the island in greater numbers after the implementation of electricity, increasing all tourist infrastructure in the locality. Tourism marketing on the island has expanded considerably with the advent of the Internet, and today, the use of mobile applications benefits both the entrepreneur and the tourist. In the discussion of the results it was found that the Island is integrated with communication and information technologies and that, according to the interviewees, due to the use of these technologies, the tourist flow had a significant increase. Communication and information technologies have brought changes in the behavior of tourists and entrepreneurs seek to update themselves technologically to meet new demands. The main facts related to the introduction of technologies in Ilha do Mel and the events that caused changes in daily life are shown in the periodization matrix.
