Defesa : Curitiba, 28/08/2018Inclui referências: p.151-165Resumo: A presente pesquisa busca analisar a permanência do projeto de Monarquia Pontifícia durante o início da instalação da Cúria papal em Avignon, isto é, no pontificado de João XXII (1316-1334). O período em que o papa João XXII governou a Igreja Católica Romana foi marcado, além dos conhecidos conflitos com o imperador romano-germânico Luís IV (1314- 1347) e com grupos de frades da Ordem Franciscana, por uma reestruturação da Cúria papal na cidade de Avignon que culminou no aumento do aparato burocrático e centralizador do Papado no ambiente eclesiástico. Um dos pontos cruciais do embate teórico e prático travado entre o papa residente em Avignon e seus opositores era a noção sobre a organização e função da Igreja no mundo, especialmente a visão sobre as atribuições e limites do Sumo Pontífice. O presente trabalho busca entender, portanto, as ações e concepções teóricas defendidas pelo papa João XXII e seus apoiadores tendo como eixo central a Eclesiologia defendida pela ortodoxia pontifícia em contraposição às concepções eclesiológicas dos adversários do referido papa. João XXII.Abstract: This research aims to analyze the papal project of Papal Monarchy during the beginning of the installation of the Papal Curia in Avignon, that is, in the pontificate of John XXII (1316- 1334). The period in which Pope John XXII ruled the Roman Catholic Church was marked, in addition to the well-known conflicts with the Holy Roman emperor Louis IV (1314-1347) and with groups of friars from the Franciscan Order, by a restructuring of the papal Curia in the city of Avignon which culminated in the increase of the bureaucratic and centralizing apparatus of the Papacy in the ecclesiastical environment. One of the crucial points of the theoretical and practical clash between the pope residing in Avignon and his opponents was the notion about the organization and function of the Church in the world, especially the vision about the attributions and limits of the Supreme Pontiff. The present work seeks to understand, therefore, the theoretical actions and conceptions defended by Pope John XXII and his supporters having as central axis the ecclesiology defended by the pontifical orthodoxy in opposition to the ecclesiological conceptions of the opponents of said pope.
