Defesa: Curitiba, 25/09/2015Inclui referências : f.209-213Área de concentração : EntomologiaResumo: As espécies do gênero Hoplocrates Mickel, 1937 distribuem-sepor todo o continente sul-americano exceto o Chile. O gênero foi revisa do por Mickel (1941), que propôs 14 novas espécies e três variedades baseadas unicamente em fêmeas, dez novas espécies baseadas unicamente em machos e 11 novas combinações, mas nenhuma associação sexual. No presente estudo, as espécies do gênero Hoplocrates foram revisadas. Seis novos táxons são descritos, totalizando33espécies para ogênero,sendo 13 conhecidas para ambos os sexos, 15 conhecidas apenas para fêmeas e cinco apenas para machos. Além das novas espécies, 14 novas sinonímias e 11 novas associações sexuais são propostas. Ainda, são designados os lectótipos de Mutilla megacephala Burmeister, 1854 e Mutilla smithi iCresson, 1902. Chaves de identificação para fêmeas e machos, descrições e redescrições, mapas de distribuição e fotografias de aspectos gerais são apresentadosAbstract: The species of the genus Hoplocrates Mickel, 1937 are distributed throughout South America, except Chile. The genus was lastrevised by Mickel (1941), who proposed 14 new species and three varieties based on females, ten new species based on males and 11 new combinations ,but no sexual associations. In this study, the species of Hoplocrates are revised. Six new taxa are described totalizing 33 species in the genus, wherein 13 are known for both sexes, 15 onlyfor females and five for males. Additionally, 14 new synonyms and 11 new sexual associations are proposed .Lectotypes are designated for Mutilla megacephala Burmeister, 1854 and Mutillasmithii Cresson, 1902.
