Defesa: Curitiba, 2004Inclui bibliografia e anexoResumo: A agricultura familiar no Brasil não passa apenas por um processo de diferenciação social crescente originando formatos diversos no que se refere à organização da produção, mas com a emergência da questão ambiental, desenvolve diferentes estratégias de reconstrução de relações com a natureza e com a sociedade. Nesse sentido este trabalho visa desenvolver um referencial teórico-prático para analisar a agricultura familiar, tendo como universo empírico o Núcleo Regional Maurício Burmester do Amaral da Rede Ecovida de Agroecologia, que agrega agricultores da Região Metropolitana de Curitiba (RMC), Campos Gerais e Litoral do estado do Paraná. Inicialmente faz se um breve histórico dos diferentes formatos de produção na agricultura brasileira com o intuito de construir uma definição apropriada a este trabalho e demonstrar como o projeto coletivo da Rede Ecovida constrói-se em oposição à agricultura convencional, apresentando-se como uma alternativa viável a este modelo sob a perspectiva social e ambiental. A realização deste projeto coletivo utópico pautado nos princípios da agroecologia somente se realiza se encontra respaldo no âmbito individual dos atores. Procurasse compreender como, mediante a adoção de práticas orientadas pelos princípios da agroecologia, são construídos projetos de vida que não são orientados exclusivamente por uma racionalidade econômica típica da modernidade, mas igualmente reconstroem relações que tem raízes numa condição de vida familiar tradicional, na qual as dimensões do econômico, da autonomia e da propriedade rural percebida e utilizada como uma unidade de vida, se mostraram como fundamentais na reconstrução de relações socioambientais.Abstract: The family farming in Brazil is not only through a process of crescent social differentiation originating several shapes referring to production organisation , but with the environmental issue emerging develop different strategies of reconstruction of the relation with nature and society. In this sense, this paperwork means to develop a theoretical and practical reference to analyse the familiar agriculture, having as an empirical universe the Regional Nucleus Maurício Burmester do Amaral from Ecovida Agroecology Network, that has farmers from Região Metropolitana de Curitiba, Campos Gerais and the Coast of the Paraná state. At first there is a brief historical of different shapes of production in the Brazilian agriculture in order to build an appropriate definition to this work and demonstrate how the collective project of Ecovida Network is built in opposition to the conventional agriculture, being present as a feasible alternative to this model under the social and environmental perspective. The accomplishment of this utopian collective project ruled over the principles of agroecology is only reached if it finds support in the individual actors.
