Defesa: Curitiba, 28/02/2013Bibliografia: f. 34-38,74-76,96-97Área de concentração : Manejo florestalResumo: O objetivo desse trabalho foi analisar e modelar, em um periodo de seis anos, o crescimento juvenil mensal e anual em diametro e altura de Araucaria angustifolia (Bert.) O. Kuntze e Pinus taeda L. e correlaciona-los com fatores climaticos. Para tanto, foram selecionadas aleatoriamente 30 arvores de P. taeda e 30 de A. angustifolia, as quais se localizam em plantios nos municipios de Curitiba e Campina Grande do Sul, respectivamente. No inicio de cada mes, no periodo de junho de 2006 a agosto de 2012, foram medidas as variaveis diametro e altura. Foram ajustados modelos biologicos para a producao mensal dos seis anos vegetativos e tambem para a producao anual. Uma analise de agrupamentos foi realizada para determinar a presenca de grupos com padrao de crescimento semelhantes ao longo do ano. As variaveis climaticas foram obtidas de duas estacoes meteorologicas do SIMEPAR proximas aos plantios monitorados. Para determinar o efeito das variaveis climaticas sobre o crescimento foi feita uma matriz de correlacao. Posteriormente, fez-se a Analise de Componentes Principais (ACP) para determinar as variaveis climaticas a serem inclusas no ajuste do modelo de producao de Chapman- Richards. Os resultados indicaram que as curvas de producao mensal de ambas as especies e variaveis apresentaram forma sigmoidal, demonstrando o mesmo comportamento das curvas de producao ano a ano. Os modelos biologicos apresentaram estatisticas de ajuste e precisao satisfatorias, tendo sido selecionado o de Chapman-Richards como o mais apropriado para moldar-se aos dados. Podese verificar por meio das curvas de producao mensal e anual que o plantio de A. angustifolia ainda encontra-se em fase juvenil de desenvolvimento, nao sendo observado o mesmo para P. taeda que ja atingiu a fase adulta. A analise de agrupamento mostrou a formacao de tres grupos, que representam padroes distintos de incremento durante o ano. O maior incremento durante o periodo vegetativo ocorreu em media de setembro a abril para as duas especies, com menores taxas, e ate cessacao do crescimento (dormencia) ocorrendo entre os meses de maio e agosto. As variaveis climaticas que apresentaram maior correlacao com o crescimento mensal em diametro e altura das especies foram temperatura, fotoperiodo e pressao atmosferica, alem da precipitacao para alguns anos da analise. Os ajustes do modelo biologico com a inclusao de variaveis climaticas apresentaram reducao do erro padrao de estimativa em cerca de 0,8%, comparativamente ao modelo biologico tradicional. Entretanto, a ANOVA mostrou nao haver diferenca estatistica entre as estimativas da producao obtidas por ambos os modelos.Abstract: The objective of this research was to analyze and to model, the monthly and annual young growth in diameter and height of Araucaria angustifolia (Bert.) O. Kuntze and Pinus taeda L. and correlate them with climatic factors, in a period of six years. For this, they were randomly selected 30 trees of P. taeda and 30 of A. angustifolia, which are located in plantations in Curitiba and Campina Grande do Sul, respectively. In the beginning of each month, during June of 2006 and August of 2012, they were measured the diameter and height. Biological models were adjusted for the monthly yield of six vegetative years and also for the annual yield. A Cluster analysis was carried out to define the presence of groups with similar growth pattern over the years. Climatic variables were obtained from two SIMEPAR's meteorological stations near the monitored plantations. A matrix of correlation was done to determinate the effect of the climatic variables on the growth. A Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was made to determine the climatic variables to be included in the adjustment of the yield model of Chapman-Richards. The results indicated that the monthly yield curves of both species and variables showed the sigmoidal form, which demonstrated the same comportment of annual yield curves. The biological models showed satisfactory statistics of adjustment and precision, and the Chapman- Richards was selected as the most appropriated to fit to the data. It was possible to verify through the monthly and annual growth yield that A. angustifolia plantation are still in the young stage of development and the P. taeda plantation already reached the adult stage. The Cluster analysis showed the formation of three groups which represent distinct patterns of growth during the year. The higher growth during the vegetative period occurs in average from September to April for both species with lower rates, and even cessation of growth (dormancy) occurring between May and August. The climatic variables that show greatest correlation with monthly growth of diameter and height were temperature, photoperiod and atmospheric pressure, and precipitation for several years of analysis. The adjustment of biological models with the inclusion of climatic variables showed reduction in the standard error of estimate at about 0.8%, compared to the traditional biological model.
