Estudos têm sido realizados com o objetivo de determinar a melhor maneira para aproveitar essas florestas, com danos mínimos ao meio ambiente e maior lucratividade. A exploração florestal de impacto reduzido (EIR) é uma das melhores alternativas, para o uso sustentável das florestas, mas para isso é importante conhecer a estrutura dessas florestas. Existem diversas espécies com potencial comercial, que necessitam demais informações sobre seu comportamento ecológico como, por exemplo, as espécies comumente denominadas de louros (Lauraceae), de grande importância ecológica e econômica, por fornecerem madeira de excelente qualidade, óleos aromáticos e de substâncias utilizadas na indústria alimentar, cosmética e medicinal. O objetivo principal deste trabalho foi analisar a dinâmica das populações de espécies de Lauraceae, em uma floresta natural de terra firme, onde foi realizada uma exploração florestal de impacto reduzido, na região de Paragominas, Pará. A pesquisa foi realizada na UT 2 (com 108 hectares), na UPA 7 da Unidade de Manejo Florestal da Fazenda Rio Capim, pertencente à CIKEL Brasil Verde Madeiras Ltda., onde árvores de Lauraceae foram monitoradas em 36 parcelas permanentes de 0,25 ha, subdivididas em: doze parcelas para estudar a floresta não-explorada (T0); doze para área explorada com retirada apenas do fuste comercial das árvores (T1); e doze para a área explorada com retirada do fuste comercial e do resíduo lenhoso (T2). Os dados coletados nas parcelas exploradas (T1+T2) foram analisados em conjunto, mas separadamente dos dados obtidos nas parcelas não exploradas (T0). Cada parcela foi dividida em 25 subparcelas quadradas, onde os indivíduos foram medidos a 1,30m do solo, e classificados em: arvoretas (5,0cm ≤ DAP ≤ 9,9cm); e árvores (DAP ≥ 10cm). As parcelas foram avaliadas antes da exploração, em 2003, e nos anos seguintes à exploração (2004, 2005 e 2007). A composição florística, assim como a estrutura da população de Lauraceae, sofreu alterações decorrentes da exploração, indicando que mesmo as espécies que não são colhidas em áreas sob manejo, passam por processos dinâmicos pós-exploratórios. As mudanças estruturais na floresta foram sutis, mas, quando observada isoladamente cada espécie, é possível verificar as diferenças entre as elas. Dentre as Lauraceae, Ocotea costulata foi a que mais se destacou.In tropical forests there are hundreds of plant species with timber very useful. Researches have been made with the objective of finding the best way to use these resources, with minimum damage to environment and most profit. The reduced impact logging is one of the better alternatives to the sustainable use of forests, but for this it is necessary to know on the forest structure. There are several species with commercial potential which need more information about its ecological behavior, like for example, the species commonly called louros (Lauraceae), with lot ecological importance and economic, because to supply quality wood excellent, scented oil and substances used in the eating industry, cosmetic and medicinal. The principal objective this work was to analyze the dynamic of Lauraceae species population, in the natural forest of terra firme, where was realized in a forest reduced-impact logging (RIL), in the region of Paragominas-Pará. The researches was realized in 9 hectares of Rio Capim Farm, belonging to CIKEL Brasil Verde Madeiras Ltda., where Lauraceae trees were followed in 36 permanents sample-plots (50m x 50m), aleatoryly distributed in the area, being 12 to plots in unlogged (T0), 12 plots were allocated in logged forest with cutting of boles (T1), and 12 in forest with cutting of boles and harvest of wood residues (T2). The information obtained in the sampleplot with cutting of boles (T1+T2) were analyzed in set, but separately of the data of the unlogged forest (T0). The individuous were measuremented in two classes: small trees (5,0cm ≤ DBH ≤ 9,9cm), young trees; and trees (DBH ≥ 10cm). The sample-plots were validated before the logging, in 2003, and in the next years after logging (2004, 2005 e 2007). The results show that the floristic composition, and the structure of population of Lauraceae, suffered changes coming of logging indicating that same the species that were not cuted in management areas, pass by the process of dynamic after the logging. The structures changing in the forest was subtle, but, when observed isolately each one species, is possible to verify the differences between them.
