Resumo: The study aims to quantify the production and decomposition of litter in native forest and capoeira in a forest fragment of the Hacienda San José, Campo Verde (MT) environments. In each area was delimited, and this one ha were randomly distributed 20 collectors of 0.36 m² and is made with wood sides and bottom of the nylon mesh (shading). Sampling was conducted monthly from September 2003 to August 2004 In the laboratory, the collected material was manually separated into three fractions: leaves, twigs (less than 1 cm in diameter) and Miscellaneous (flowers, fruits, seeds, etc. .); placed to dry in an oven and weighed. Monthly litter production was significantly higher in the dry season (September 1 047,35 kg ha- and October 1 223.34 kg habitants) in the native forest, the following composition: 61.4% of leaves; Branches of 21.9% and 16.7% for miscellaneous. In capoeira: 59.9% leaves, 23.7% and 16.4% of branches of miscellany. The decomposition coefficients (K) were 0.53 and 0.73 in the native forest in capoeira.

Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia/UFRA2011-05-09info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://ajaes.ufra.edu.br/index.php/ajaes/article/view/200Amazonian Journal of Agricultural Sciences Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; Vol 47 No 1 (2007): RCA; 173 - 186Revista de Ciências Agrárias Amazonian Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; v. 47 n. 1 (2007): RCA; 173 - 1862177-87601517-591Xreponame:Revista de Ciências Agrárias (Belém.
