Resumo: The replacement of natural forest by alternative forms of land use in the Amazon has generated ecological implications related to the use of natural resources on which agriculture and the forestry sector has been hard hit. The aim of this study was to evaluate the production of dry matter and limiting nutrient for growing corn (Zea mays L.) of Oxisol under forest secondary and agroforestry. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at the University Federal Rural da Amazônia, using a completely randomized design with treatments arranged in a factorial 2x10 (two systems of land use - agroglorestal system and secondary forest (cocoa consortium - Theobroma cacao, peach palm Bactris-gasipaes and Gliricidia sepium gliricidia-) and 10 treatments under the missing nutrient technique:. witness (natural soil); complete fertilizer with macro and micronutrients; complete fertilization liming; omission of one element in each (N, P, K, Ca, Mg and S) and micronutrients in the complete omission of treatment in 4 repetitions. The dry matter production of corn increased due to fertilization and liming, being generally higher in the soil of the area under agroforestry. The omission of P and K caused the greatest limitations on the dry weight of shoots of corn, regardless of the land use system.

Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia/UFRA2011-03-11info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://ajaes.ufra.edu.br/index.php/ajaes/article/view/131Amazonian Journal of Agricultural Sciences Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; Vol 52 No 1 (2009): RCA; 137-145Revista de Ciências Agrárias Amazonian Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; v. 52 n. 1 (2009): RCA; 137-1452177-87601517-591Xreponame:Revista de Ciências Agrárias (Belém.
