Resumo: The objective of this study was to characterize tomato fruits from 59 accessions of a tomato plant from the Germplasm Collection of the Department of Plant Engineering of Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ), regarding physical, physicochemical and morphoagronomic characteristics. Four varieties and one hybrid were used as standards. Mature fruits harvested in cultivation under organic cultivation from October 2010 to March 2011, in Seropédica, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, were used. A completely randomized design with three replications and 10 fruits per plot was adopted. Two physical characteristics (longitudinal and equatorial diameter); one physicochemical (total soluble solid content – SST) and five morphoagronomic (coloration, fruit shape, shape of upper and lower parts of the fruit and number of locules) were evaluated. Data were submitted to analysis variance and grouping by the Scott-Knott test (p < 0.05) and hierarchical grouping was made by Mahalanobis’ generalized distance using the UPGMA method. Two accessions, ENAS 1228 and ENAS 1214 stood out by the high SST content, > 10.0°Brix, in addition to 23 accessions with °Brix > 8.0. Color fruits (ENAS 1008, ENAS, 1010, ENAS 1015, ENAS 1017, ENAS 1029, ENAS 1215) and differentiated formats (ENAS 1013, ENAS 1043, ENAS 1040, ENAS 1077, ENAS 1012) were identified. Due to the beauty and uniqueness, several of these are very promising and interesting to fill niche markets, especially of organic products.

Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia/UFRA2018-10-20info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtigoapplication/pdfhttps://ajaes.ufra.edu.br/index.php/ajaes/article/view/2800Amazonian Journal of Agricultural Sciences Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; Vol 61 (2018): RCARevista de Ciências Agrárias Amazonian Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; v. 61 (2018): RCA2177-87601517-591Xreponame:Revista de Ciências Agrárias (Belém.
