Resumo: | Vegetative propagation of guarana by cuttings is very important for the breeding program, because it allows the setting of the selected at any stage of the program, regardless of the breeding method used genotypes. Guarana stakes treated with IBA rooting is the method used for the various clones. This work was carried out to evaluate the behavior as the rooting of clones guarana submitted to various concentrations of IBA. The experiment was conducted by Embrapa Western Amazon in 1999, in the nurseries of the Experimental Field of Manaus and the Experimental Maués, on a completely randomized design in a factorial arrangement with 11 clones and six doses of guarana plant hormone IBA with 4 replications and 10 plants per plot. The results suggest that there is genetic variability for the character rooting percentage, it is possible to group the clones of guarana in four classes, according to the ease of rooting. Clones behave in the same way as the roots, regardless of the level of IBA used. Increasing doses of IBA inhibits rooting of clones guarana. |

Increasing doses of IBA inhibits rooting of clones guarana.A propagação vegetativa do guaranazeiro por meio da estaquia é muito importante para o programa de melhoramento, pois permite a fixação dos genótipos selecionados em qualquer fase do programa, independentemente do método de melhoramento utilizado. Estacas de guaranazeiro tratadas com AIB é o método de enraizamento utilizado para os diversos clones. Esse trabalho foi realizado com o objetivo de avaliar o comportamento quanto ao enraizamento de clones de guaranazeiro submetidos à diversas concentrações do AIB. O experimento foi conduzido pela Embrapa Amazônia Ocidental no ano de 1999, nos viveiros do Campo Experimental de Manaus e do Campo Experimental de Maués, em um delineamento inteiramente ao acaso, em arranjo fatorial com 11 clones de guaranazeiro e 6 doses do fitormônio AIB, com 4 repetições e 10 plantas por parcela. Os resultados obtidos permitem concluir que existe variabilidade genética para o caráter percentagem de enraizamento, sendo possível agrupar os clones de guaranazeiro em 4 classes, de acordo com a facilidade de enraizamento. Os clones se comportam da mesma forma, quanto ao enraizamento, independente do nível de AIB utilizado.
