Growth of Heliconia psittacorum CV. Golden Torch because of dolomitic limestone

Resumo: This study aimed to determine the effect of dolomitic lime on growth of heliconia (Heliconia Heliconia psittacorum L. x spathocircinata Arist.) Cv. Golden Torch, cultured in medium textured Oxisol in Belém, through dasvariáveis biometric and dry mass of leaves, pseudostem, roots, air, full and part relationship between the dry weight of shoot and root dry mass. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse at Embrapa Amazônia Oriental, Belém-PA, using medium textured Oxisol as substrate, collected from the 0-20 cm layer. And the control without lime were tested four doses of concealer, t / ha, which were: 0.9; 2.6; 4.2; and 5.9. After weighing 20 kg of soil was made of dolomitic limestone incubation according to the treatment for 72 days and the saturation humidity maintained at 60%. In planting a rhizome with pseudostem per pot, measuring about 15 cm was used. The experimental design was completely randomized with five treatments and five replications, totaling 25 experimental units. It was concluded that liming did not promote beneficial effect on plant growth of heliconia (Heliconia Heliconia psittacorum L. x spathocircinata Arist.) Cv. Golden Torch in Oxisoil medium texture.

Golden Torch in Oxisoil medium texture.O presente trabalho objetivou determinar o efeito da aplicação de calcário dolomítico no crescimento de plantas de helicônia (Heliconia psittacorum L. x Heliconia spathocircinata Arist.) cv. Golden Torch, cultivadas em Latossolo Amarelo de textura média do município de Belém, através dasvariáveis biométricas e produção de massa seca das folhas, pseudocaule, raízes, parte aérea, total e relação entre a massa seca da parte aérea e a massa seca das raízes. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação da Embrapa Amazônia Oriental, em Belém-PA, utilizando o Latossolo Amarelo textura média como substrato, coletado da camada de 0-20 cm. Além da testemunha sem calcário, foram testadas quatro doses do corretivo, em t/ha, os quais foram: 0,9; 2,6; 4,2; e 5,9. Após pesagem de 20 kg de solo, foi feita a incubação do calcário dolomítico, conforme os tratamentos, durante 72 dias, sendo a umidade de saturação mantida a 60%. No plantio foi utilizado um rizoma com pseudocaule, por vaso, medindo em torno de 15 cm. O delineamento experimental adotado foi o inteiramente casualizado, com cinco tratamentos e cinco repetições, totalizando 25 unidades experimentais. Concluiu-se que a calagem não promoveu efeito benéfico no crescimento de plantas de helicônia (Heliconia psittacorum L. x Heliconia spathocircinata Arist.) cv.
