Diametric DISTRIBUTION IN FOREST VI ?? RZEA ARM NORTH RIVER AMAZON

This study aims to evaluate the diameter distributions in estuarine floodplain forest of the brave north of the Amazon River, in the state of Amapá. Six sampling plots of 1 ha (100 x 100 m) each, the mouth toward the lower Amazon, three samples in high floodplain and three were installed in low floodplain. The first in Progress Village, Island Curuá-Bailique, and the last to the first 225 km, Rio Preto-Mazagão. All trees with DBH = 5 cm were measured. The diameter distribution of the trees of the two environments showed the shape of inverted "J", and the results of mean diameter, median, minimum diameter, maximum diameter, standard deviation and coefficient of variation for the high floodplain, were: 12.4 cm ; 9.5 cm; 5.0 cm; 109.0 cm; 10.3 cm and 82.9%; for low floodplain: 11.8 cm; 9.2 cm; 5.0 cm; 116.0 cm; 9.8 cm and 83.60%, respectively. The asymmetry was positive, with a high concentration of individuals in the lower classes and kurtosis showed a leptokurtic curve. No significant differences between the two environments were observed.
