Resumo: In 1630, Descartes declared that his studies were focused on the establishment of the foundations of knowledge. Several issues discussed in the letters are significant, but one in particular is of great importance for the understanding of his philosophy, namely, the affirmation of the metaphysical foundation of eternal truths.
