Resumo: This study aims to analyze the perspective of art as part of the apparatus of social domination, developed in work The ideology of industrial society, Herbert Marcuse. For this, we will use as reference in the theories proposed by philosophers of the Frankfurt School, particularly Theodor W. Adorno and Max Horkheimer in respect especially to the term "cultural industry", a term which appears in the chapter titled The dialectic of enlightenment. Apoiaremo us also in the doctoral thesis of Imaculada Kangussu, entitled Laws of Liberty: the relationship between aesthetics and politics in the philosophy of Herbert Marcuse, and also in other works of Marcuse, especially Eros and Civilization: A Philosophical inquiry Freud.

Para isso, utilizaremos como referência constante as teorias propostas pelos filósofos da Escola de Frankfurt, em especial Theodor W.
