Resumo: The Covid-19 pandemic is an unprecedented global event whose effects will extend over time in the most diverse spheres of life in society. This dossier aims to go beyond  description of events and advance the empirical analysis of the effects of the pandemic by facing the theoretical and methodological uncertainties that cross different research agendas. It presents articles that, in a plural and complementary way, discuss the role of the State in the tackling the health crisis, the (re)production of inequalities, the uses of science and sociocultural changes in the pandemic context.

Este dossier pretende ir más allá de la descripción de hechos y avanzar en el análisis empírico de los efectos de la pandemia afrontando las incertidumbres teóricas y metodológicas que atraviesan distintas agendas de investigación. Presenta artículos que, de manera plural y complementaria, discuten el papel del Estado en la gestión de la crisis sanitaria, la (re)producción de las desigualdades, los usos de la ciencia y los cambios socioculturales en el contexto de la pandemia.La pandémie de Covid-19 est un événement mondial sans précédent, dont les effets s'étendront dans le temps dans les sphères les plus diverses de la vie en société. Ce dossier vise à aller au-delà de la description des événements et à faire avancer l'analyse empirique des effets de la pandémie en faisant face aux incertitudes théoriques et méthodologiques qui traversent différents agendas de recherche. Il présente des articles qui, de manière plurielle et complémentaire, abordent le rôle de l'État dans la gestion de la crise sanitaire, la (re)production des inégalités, les usages de la science et les changements socioculturels en contexte pandémique.A pandemia da Covid-19 é um evento global sem precedentes, cujos efeitos se prolongarão no tempo nas mais diversas esferas da vida em sociedade. Este dossiê visa superar a descrição dos acontecimentos e avançar na análise empírica sobre os efeitos da pandemia pelo enfrentamento das incertezas, teóricas e metodológicas que atravessam distintas agendas de pesquisas.
