Violência doméstica e silenciamento: tradução comentada do conto ‘Anitilla’, de Ana Morilla

Fictional productions written by female authors gained prominence in the 20th century and continue to have space today, highlighting themes that approach the female universe, the dilemmas and conflicts. For example, cases of violence practiced by men against women that is a result of a patriarchal culture, which persists in our contemporary world. Therefore, our aim is to translate into Portuguese the short story “Anitilla” written by the Spanish writer Ana Morilla and comment on the translation process, emphasizing the choices made, besides the additions and particularities of a narrative that recreates a real event in the poetic scope. The theoretical support was given by Arroyo (2022), Berman (2007), Carvalhal (2003), Martín Zorraquino (2012), Morilla (2020), Venuti (1995). By connecting fiction with a historical event, Morilla gives a representation concerning the problematic surrounding the female figure in the Western society and probably in almost all parts of the world. Despite the advances and attempts to transform this reality, it seems that it perpetuates itself more and more, instead of being completely erased from our lives in the 21st century.
