Resumo: This article seeks to analyze how the rescue of the memory is present in the short stories “A cicatriz” and “Bialystok, a jornada”, both by the writer Bernardo Kucinski, wich make up the collection A cicatriz e outras histórias: (quase) todos os contos de B. Kucinski, released in 2021, as well as the way the writer deals with issues involving the Brazilian dictatorial regime, the Nazism, and the Jewish genocide and the devastating consequences that these historical catastrofes caused to the survivors and their families, in order to understand the importance of shedding ligth on the memory of the reader about the history of a people through the literary text.
