INTERNATIONAL MANAGEMENT: BRAZILIAN SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION FROM 1997 TO 2006

Resumo: The aim of this study is to map the scientific production in the area of International Management in Brazil. The research base was articles published in Brazilian academic periodicals rated as A national by QUALIS/CAPES during the periods from 1997-2001, 2002-2006 and 1997-2006. It was identified 143 articles considered as International Management area. Following methodologies developed in similar national and international articles the material was categorized by periodicals, theme subjects, authors and their institutional liaisons. The institutions ranked by the number of published articles were USP, FGV-SP e UFRGS. Among the periodicals the ones which most published International Management articles were REAd, RAE, RAC and RAUSP. The subjects most found in the articles were Country Studies, Industry Studies, Management and Organizations, with little significant changes in the 10 years. From this study we could observe a rise in the number of publications (27%) about International Management in the periods from 1997-2001 to 2002-2006. The results of EnANPADs had been made separately. A growth of 93% in the publication of IM was verified from 1997-2006. The subject that appears as results of EnANPADs is Marketing and FGV-Rio and UFMG had gone up 3 positions.

Los períodos analizados fueron entre 1997-2001, 2002-2006 y 1997-2006 en periódicos nacionales clasificados con concepto "A" por la Capes. Fueron identificados 143 como siendo de Gestión Internacional. Siguiendo ejemplo de los artículos nacionales e internacionales, el material levantado en diversas publicaciones fue agrupado por periódicos, áreas temáticas, autores y vinculaciones institucionales de los mismos. El análisis indicó que las instituciones con mayor número de publicaciones, en orden decreciente, fueron USP, FGV-SP y UFRGS. En relación con las requisas que más publicaron en Gestión Internacional, también en orden decreciente, fueron READ, RAE, RAC y RAUSP. En lo que toca la temática de los artículos, en orden decreciente, tenemos Estudios de países, Estudio de la Industria/Sector, Administración y Organizaciones, con poco cambio significativo en los 10 años. Se constató un crecimiento de 27% en el número de publicaciones en Gestión Internacional de 1997-2001 a 2002-2006. Los resultados de las comunicaciones en los EnANPADs fueron realizados en separado. Se verificó entre 1997 a 2006 un crecimiento de 93% en la publicación del tema GI. En relación con las áreas temáticas, el cambio con el EnANPAD sería la aparición del área Marketing. Por último, en relación con las universidades, la FGV-Río y la UFMG subieron 3 posiciones.O foco da presente pesquisa é a produção científica na área de Gestão Internacional no Brasil. Os períodos analisados foram entre 1997-2001, 2002-2006 e 1997-2006 em periódicos nacionais classificadas com conceito "A" pela Capes. Foram identificados 143 como sendo de Gestão Internacional. Seguindo exemplo dos artigos nacionais e internacionais, o material levantado em diversas publicações foi agrupado por periódicos, áreas temáticas, autores e vinculações institucionais dos mesmos. A análise indicou que as instituições com maior número de publicações, em ordem decrescente, foram USP, FGV-SP e UFRGS. Em relação às revistas que mais publicaram em Gestão Internacional, também em ordem decrescente, foram REAd, RAE, RAC e RAUSP. No que tange a temática dos artigos, em ordem decrescente, temos Estudos de países, Estudo da Indústria/Setor, Administração e Organizações, com pouca mudança significativa nos 10 anos. Constatou-se um crescimento de 27% no número de publicações em Gestão Internacional de 1997-2001 a 2002-2006. Os resultados das comunicações nos EnANPADs foram realizados separadamente. Verificou-se entre 1997 a 2006 um crescimento de 93% na publicação do tema GI. Em relação às áreas temáticas, a mudança com o EnANPAD seria o aparecimento da área Marketing.
