APPLICATION OF THE SOFT SYSTEMS METHODOLOGY IN THE EVALUATION OF A POST-GRADUATION PROGRAMME IN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT: PERSPECTIVE OF THE STUDENT BODY

Resumo: | In Brazil, education is a segment which has been target for criticism in relation to its capacity of rendering services with qualities. In the universities, several are the problems which affect the academic formation. The objective of the present work is to describe the methodology "Soft Systems Methodology" (SSM) and apply it in the identification and elaboration of proposals that could solve the problem in a post-graduation programme. The study evaluated the master courses of the Post-Graduation Program of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (PPGA/UFRGS), under the students standpoint of the "Information System and Support for Decision-Making". The applied methodology aims at identifying and structuring the problem situations with definition difficulties, relating the real world with the systemic thinking. The SSM demonstrated to be an interactive educational process, characterized by constant debates and participation of all the individuals involved. Its execution allowed the proposition of actions to solve the problems identified. |

En el Brasil, la educación es un sector que se ha venido bastante criticado cuanto a la prestación de servicios con calidad. En las universidades, varios son los problemas que afetan la formación académica. El objetivo de este trabajo es describir el método "Soft Systems Methodology" (SSM) y aplicarlo en la identificación y elaboración de propuestas para resolución de problemas en un programa de posgrado. El estudio evaluó el mestrado del Programa de Posgrado en Administración de la Universidad Federal del Rio Grande do Sul (PPGA/UFRGS), bajo la perspectiva de los discentes de la área de concentración "Sistemas de Información y de Apoyo a la Decisión". El método aplicado visa identificar y estructurar situaciones problemáticas con dificultades de definición, de una forma encadenada, relacionando el mundo real con el pensamiento sistémico. La SSM se mostró un proceso interativo de aprendizaje, caracterizada por constantes debates y participación de todos los envolvidos.
