Resumo: Individuals always make decisions, whether simple or complex, fast or slowly, depending on the small or large availability of information, of a unique or constant nature, among other aspects. Seeking to understand the logic behind people's decision-making process, several models have been proposed by scholars. The present study aims to carry out the translation, cross-cultural adaptation, and validation for the Brazilian context of the General Decision-Making Styles Inventory (GDMS), originally proposed by Scott and Bruce (1995). To this end, the instrument underwent six stages of translation and adaptation based on the model by Beaton et al. (2000). Then, after carrying out the pre-test, the final version of the instrument was applied in a pilot study with a sample of 250 individuals, operated by the Google Forms platform. Thus, based on the data found, an exploratory factor analysis was carried out, to validate the final version of the questionnaire. Finally, it was concluded that the model proposed in this study proved to be adequate for the investigation of the construct individual decision-making styles, presenting appropriate validity and reliability indices. This scale can also be used in new research in Administration and the like, expanding the knowledge on the subject.

Buscando comprender la lógica detrás del proceso de toma de decisiones de las personas, los académicos han propuesto varios modelos. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo realizar la traducción, adaptación transcultural y validación para el contexto brasileño del Inventario General de Estilos de Toma de Decisiones (GDMS), propuesto originalmente por Scott y Bruce (1995). Para ello, el instrumento pasó por seis etapas de traducción y adaptación con base en el modelo de Beaton et al. (2000). Luego, después de realizar el pre-test, se aplicó la versión final del instrumento en un estudio piloto con una muestra de 250 individuos, operado por la plataforma Google Forms. Así, a partir de los datos encontrados, se realizó un análisis factorial exploratorio, con el fin de validar la versión final del cuestionario. Finalmente, se concluyó que el modelo propuesto en este estudio se mostró adecuado para la investigación del constructo estilos individuales de toma de decisiones, presentando índices de validez y confiabilidad adecuados. Esta escala también puede ser utilizada en nuevas investigaciones en el área de Administración y afines, ampliando los conocimientos sobre el tema.Os indivíduos tomam decisões a todo momento, de caráter simples ou complexo, de forma rápida ou demorada, da pequena ou grande disponibilidade de informações, de natureza única ou constante, entre outros aspectos. Buscando compreender a lógica de desenvolvimento do processo de decisão das pessoas, diversos modelos foram propostos por estudiosos. O presente estudo objetiva realizar a tradução, adaptação transcultural e validação para o contexto brasileiro do Inventário Geral de Estilos de Tomada de Decisão - GDMS. Para tanto, o instrumento passou por seis etapas de tradução e adaptação e, em seguida, após a realização do pré-teste, a versão final do instrumento foi aplicada em um estudo piloto com uma amostra de 250 indivíduos. A partir dos dados encontrados, procedeu-se à análise fatorial exploratória, visando validar a versão final do questionário. Por fim, concluiu-se que o modelo proposto neste estudo se demonstrou adequado à investigação do construto estilos de tomada de decisão individual, apresentando validade e índices de confiabilidade apropriados.
