Resumo: To look at the door-EKG time in patients with ACS who come to the emergency room. Cohort study of 53 AMI. The variables were time of arrival, EKG, nursing and thrombolytic care. The data were obtained from records of March to July 2006. The age was 61.1 ± 12.2 years, 64% male. Initial care was given by the nursing staff, with a mean time of 8 minutes, and the door-EKG time was 20 minutes. There was no statistically significant difference between the door-EKG time and the type of transport to hospital (P=0.39). Shift and type of medical care did not influence the time of the first EKG, P=0.23 and P=0.14, respectively. The study results show a door-EKG time above 10 minutes in most patients, but the study could not identify the factors that delayed the EKG.
