Resumo: This article describes the social, obstetric and behavioral characteristics of the pregnant adolescents attended by nursing appointments. It is a quantitative and descriptive research. The data refers to the period between 1989 and 1999. The researcher reviewed 931 files of pregnant adolescents. Results show that the incidence of pregnancy is higher on the period between the ages of 15 and 19 years old; the majority of the adolescents can count on an partner; they begin prenatal nursing appointments from the twentieth week of pregnancy on; and they have three or more appointments.

Se trata de un estudio quantitativo de tipo descriptivo, con investigación de documientos. Los datos se referen a los años comprendidos entre 1989 y 1999. Fueron consultadas 931 fichas de gestantes adolescentes. Los resultados apuntan la incidencia de gestaciones son predominantes en el periodo de los 15 a 19 años; la gran parte de las gestantes cuentan con apoyo del compañero, las adolescentes empezan el pre-natal con enfermera a partir de la vigésima semana de gestación y reciben durante el pre-natal tres o más consultas de enfermería obstétrica.O artigo apresenta o perfil social, obstétrico e comportamental das gestantes adolescentes atendidas em consulta de enfermagem em um hospital universitário de Porto Alegre. Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo do tipo descritivo, com pesquisa documental. Os dados coletados referem-se ao período entre 1989 e 1999. Foram consultadas 931 fichas de gestantes adolescentes.
