Resumo: The present study aims to unveiling the meanings of first inbed patient bathing for students of a school of nursing assistants. The present study had a qualitative design and counted with a phenomenological-hermeneutic approach. Study participants were six students. Data collection was carried out through a semi-structured interview; and discourse analysis was done with a hermeneutic approach (RICOUER, 1990; MOTTA,1997;CROSSETTI, 1997). Topics unveiled were both the act of facing a new situation and inbed bathing as a moment of providing healthcare. We believe that the understanding of these meanings is essential for the planning of healthcare teaching,helping students to overcome difficulties during inbed bathing

Se trata de una investigación cualitativa con enfoque fenomenológico-hermenéutico. Los sujetos son seis estudiantes. Para recolección de las informaciones, se ha utilizado la entrevista semiestructurada, y el análisis de los discursos fue realizado con enfoque hermenéutico (RICOUER, 1990; MOTTA, 1997; CROSSETTI, 1997). Los temas desvelados fueron los siguientes: enfrentar una situación nueva y baño en el lecho es un encuentro de cuidado. Se cree que la comprensión de estos significados sea fundamental para la planificación de la enseñanza del cuidado, auxiliando a los estudiantes a vencer sus dificultades durante el baño en el lecho.O presente estudo tem como objetivo desvelar o significado do banho no leito para alunos de um curso de auxiliares de enfermagem. Trata-se de uma investigação qualitativa com abordagem fenomenológica-hermenêutica. Os sujeitos são seis estudantes. Para coleta das informações, utilizou-se a entrevista semiestruturada, e a análise dos discursos foi realizada com abordagem hermenêutica (RICOUER, 1990; MOTTA, 1997; CROSSETTI,1997). Os temas desvelados foram o enfrentamento de uma situação nova e o banho no leito como um encontro de cuidado.
