Nursing knowledge production in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay

Resumo: | Research is being pointed out as a path to nursing recognition. The knowledge production concerning the tendencies of research lines in nursing during the 90’s, in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, took part of a study that had the purpose to know the impact of the nursing profession practice on health in Latin America and in the Caribbean Islands. The methodology used was the exploratory quantitative research, and the database used were Lilacs and Medline. The most frequent investigation themes refer to nursing profession (up to 13.2%). Regarding the lines of investigation in nursing, we found out that the nursing professional stood out with 41%, being technique and methodology the main approaches. Chile was the country that produced the largest amount of research, 86.8% of the summaries. Referring to the financing source, no reference is made in 86.8% of the summaries. With reference to the number of authors involved with the published literature, 50.7% of the literature have only one author. The nurses should be aware to invest in the enlargement of this production. |

En la producción de conocimientos, las tendencias de las líneas de investigación en enfermería en la Argentina, Chile, Paraguay y Uruguay, en la década del 90, fue parte de un estudio cuya finalidad fue conocer el impacto de la profesión para la salud en Latinoamérica y Caribe. La metodología utilizada fue la investigación exploratoria cuantitativa y las bases de datos son las fuentes de información Lilacs y Medline. Los temas de investigación más frecuentes versan cerca de la profesión de enfermería con 13,2 %. En las líneas de investigación en enfermería, destacáse la profesional con el 41%, siendo abordadas la técnica y la metodologia. Chile produce el 86,8 % de los resúmenes. La fuente de financiamiento de los trabajos no es referida en el, 86,8% de los resúmenes y, el 50,7 % de las publicaciones poseen un autor. Los enfermeros deben estar muy atentos para aumentar esa producción.A pesquisa está sendo ressaltada como um caminho em prol do reconhecimento da enfermagem. A produção do conhecimento das tendências de linhas de pesquisa em Enfermagem na Argentina, Chile, Paraguai e Uruguai, na década de 90, foi parte integrante de um estudo cuja finalidade foi conhecer o impacto da profissão para a saúde na América Latina e no Caribe. A metodologia utilizada foi a pesquisa exploratória quantitativa, e as bases de dados são as fontes de informação do Lilacs e Medline. Os temas de investigação mais freqüentes versam sobre a profissão enfermagem com 13,2%. Nas linhas de pesquisa em enfermagem, a profissional destacou-se com 41 %, sendo abordadas a técnica e a metodologia. O Chile produziu 86,8% dos resumos. A fonte de financiamento dos trabalhos não é referida em 86,8% dos resumos e 50,7% das publicações possuem um autor.
