Resumo: This study had the objective of identifying the needs of care reported by a group of elderly people in a region covered by the Family Health Strateg y (ESF). The methodolog y used was based on a descriptive cross-sectional study, with a sample of 176 persons over 60 years of age. Most of the individuals were females, between 60 and 69 years old, with an average of 69.6 ± 7.4 years. The elderly reported co-morbidities, most of which were related to diseases of the circulatory and endocrine systems, as well as nutritional and metabolic disturbances, musculos;eletal and conjunctive tissue diseases. Regarding the Basic Activities of Daily Life, 93.2% of the elderly reported to be independent, 81.3% were able to conduct instrumental daily life activities, and 24.4% reported needing a caregiver at home. The need for the family health team to adopt care technologies for the elderly in the scope of their homes is discussed

El delineamiento es transversal, se basa en la población y tiene carácter descriptivo, con una muestra de 176 personas con una edad = de 60 años. El sexo femenino fue mayoritario y el grupo de edad estuvo entre los 60 y los 69 años, con un promedio de edad de 69,6 ± 7,4 años. Los adultos mayores relataron tener comorbidades, destacándose los grupos de causas correspondientes a enfermedades del aparato circulatorio+ enfermedades endócrinas, nutricionales y metabólicas+ enfermedades del sistema osteomuscular y tejido conjuntivo. En relación a las actividades básicas de la vida diaria (AVDs), el 93,2% de los adultos mayores relató ser independiente, el 81,3% independiente para actividades instrumentales de la vida diaria (AVDs), y el 24,4% siente la necesidad de un cuidador en su domicilio. Se discute la necesidad de que los equipos de salud adopten tecnologlas asistenciales para los adultos mayores en el contexto domiciliar.0 estudo objetivou identificar as necessidades de cuidado auto-referidas por idosos de uma área de abrangência da Estratégia de Saúde da Família (ESF). 0 delineamento é transversal, de base populacional e de cunho descritivo, com uma amostra de 176 pessoas com idade = 60 anos.
