Resumo: This study aimed to characterize the nursing team, to find out and analyze its perception about the process of work developed at the reception area of the School Health Center of the Universidade de São Paulo Medicine School at Ribeirão Preto. The theoretical framework was based on directive and organizational principles of the Unified Health System. It is a qualitative research. The authors analyzed the data in two groups, the perception about the reception and the perception about the reception in the process of work. The Nursing work within the emergency care presented potentials, using the reception to change the assistance model.

The Nursing work within the emergency care presented potentials, using the reception to change the assistance model.El presente estudio objetivó caracterizar el equipo de enfermería, conocer y analizar la percepción sobre el proceso de trabajo desarrollado en la recepción en el sector de cuidado de emergencia del Centro de Saúde Escola da Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto de la Universidade de São Paulo. El referencial teórico fue basado en los princípios directivos y organizativos del Sistema Único de Salud. La investigación es cualitativa. Los autores realizaron el análisis de los datos en dos grandes grupos: la percepción cuanto al acogimiento y la percepción de la acogimiento en el proceso de trabajo. El trabajo de enfermería en el cuidado de emergencia presentó potencialidades, utilizando el acogimiento para revertir el modelo asistencial.O presente estudo objetivou caracterizar a equipe de enfermagem, conhecer e analisar a percepção acerca do processo de trabalho desenvolvido na recepção/acolhimento do pronto atendimento do Centro de Saúde Escola da Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto da Universidade de São Paulo. O referencial teórico baseou-se no nos princípios diretivos e organizativos do Sistema Único de Saúde. A pesquisa é qualitativa. Procedeu-se análise dos dados em dois grandes grupos: a percepção quanto ao acolhimento e a percepção do acolhimento no processo de trabalho.
