Resumo: This study aims to analyze the representation of black women in narratives by Conceição Evaristo. To do so, we worked with two texts by this author: Ponciá Vicêncio and Mary Benedita. In these narratives, we present how the characters associate themselves with a perspective of (re)existence in the face of the various setbacks that black women encounter. The analysis carried out allows us to conclude that the female characters depicted in Conceição Evaristo's fiction learn to resignify their experiences amidst shattered bonds of love and pain, asserting themselves as subjects despite their peripheral condition.

Para tanto, trabalhamos com dois textos da autora: Ponciá Vicêncio e Mary Benedita. Nestas narrativas, apresentamos o modo como as personagens associam-se a uma perspectiva de (re)existência diante dos vários reveses que se apresentam às mulheres negras.
