Resumo: Actually, the companies and the publics managements are looking for a kind of sustainable live. Into these sustainable live with cities, the waste solids management; for example, the beverage cartons are starting to receive a good attention about their reuse and reciclability. Based in the idea of innovations process and seeking of solutions through of the research, the Tetra Pak Company has discovered reciclability process for their beverage cartons, these process offer a technologic viability themselves. Through tools such as life cycle assessment is possible to check costs in the manufacture and reciclability process of the beverage cartons and after doing an economic analysis. The paper carries out a study about some things that influence the analysis about economic viability to recycle Tetra Pak beverage cartons. This paper shows the collect’s values of household and recycling garbage of Porto Alegre City, their costs and variables that influence in the values lows these garbage collects divided. Besides, the paper checks obtaining and process costs of the waste papers fibers of Tetra Pak beverage cartons comparing these costs with the process costs of normal paper recycling. Therefore, the author presents some conclusions and ideas for the future these recycling processes.

Dentro deste convívio nas cidades, a gestão dos resíduos sólidos, entre eles as embalagens Tetra Pak, começam a receber uma certa atenção quanto ao seu reaproveitamento e a sua reciclabilidade. Baseado na idéia de processos inovadores e de busca de soluções através da pesquisa, a Empresa Tetra Pak descobriu processos de reciclabilidade para suas as embalagens Longa Vida, oferecendo para as mesmas uma viabilidade tecnológica de reciclagem. Através de instrumentos como a análise do ciclo de vida, é possível verificar os custos incorporados no processo de fabricação e reciclagem das embalagens Tetra Pak, para uma posterior análise econômica. O artigo faz um estudo de alguns itens que influenciam para uma análise sobre a viabilidade econômica de reciclar as embalagens Tetra Pak. No decorrer do trabalho é demonstrado os valores da coleta domiciliar e seletiva em Porto Alegre, seus custos e variáveis que influenciam no baixo valor destas coletas na cidade. Verificam-se também os custos de obtenção e processo da reciclagem das fibras de papel das embalagens Tetra Pak comparando este com o processo normal de reciclagem do papel.
