Resumo: | This study aims to examine the impact and influences of the COVID-19 pandemic on public spending in Brazilian states from the perspective of Contingency Theory. The present work is classified as documentary research, with a quantitative approach, where the methods of descriptive statistics, correlation, multiple linear regression and econometric models were used to analyze the research data. The analysis included monthly public spending between the years 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. In this way, the behavior of public spending in each state of the federation and in the Federal District was analyzed, and the impact of the pandemic on these. The results reveal that, in general, the pandemic had a significant impact on public spending, with emphasis on the notable increase in health spending and the variations that occurred in public security spending. In addition, the regions that suffered the most increase in spending were the Northeast and Southeast regions, highlighting the massive growth in public spending on health. |

2023; 72-912175-87511676-6016reponame:ConTextoinstname:Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)instacron:UFRGSporhttps://seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/ConTexto/article/view/133114/90962Copyright (c) 2023 ConTexto - Contabilidade em Textoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSadaf Viana Pereira , SyndiaVieira Xavier, RedvâniaMaciel Ramos, Fernando2023-12-30T19:48:31Zoai:seer.ufrgs.br:article/133114Revistahttps://www.seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/ConTexto/indexPUBhttpw://www.seer.ufrgs.br/index.php/ConTexto/oaifernanda.momo@ufrgs.br||contexto@ufrgs.br2175-87511676-6016opendoar:2023-12-30T19:48:31ConTexto - Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS)false |
