Resumo: This study aims at presenting some thoughts concerning the elaboration of a Master of Science dissertation, emphasizing in Economics. The issue of efficiency in working out the dissertation is stressed, id est, how to conciliate quality and limit of time in preparing the study. Methodological procedures in order to prepare the Dissertation Proposal are discussed, stressing the research question and the hypothesis to be tested. In appendix, the Scientific Methods issue is discussed aiming at establishing the initial steps for those willing to deepen into it.

Insiste-se na questão da eficiência, isto é, na conciliação da qualidade com o tempo de sua realização. Comentam-se os procedimentos metodológicos com vistas à apresentação da Proposta de Dissertação, centrando-se na questão a investigar e na hipótese a ser testada.
