Resumo: Este trabalho foi elaborado com o intuito de criar uma compreensão dos eventos ao redor da decisão tomada em referendo pela saída do Reino Unido da União Europeia. Para tanto, o presente trabalho busca analisar os eventos e motivações por trás da criação do projeto de integração europeu, compreender os motivos que fazem com que o Reino Unido tardiamente passe a se tornar membro desse mesmo projeto, e, por fim, avaliar o que motivou a ocorrência do referendo e o resultado do mesmo.
