Roteiros turísticos, itinerários memoriais : a Linha Turismo de Porto Alegre

It approaches the relations between city, tourism and memorial itineraries that are built from the tourist routes and the narratives of monuments, architectonic spaces, events and places that compose the landscape. Qualitative research conducted during the months of February and March of 2018 that uses as methods narratology and participant observation through the realization of the route proposed by the bus "Linha Turismo" (tourism route) of Porto Alegre. The study identifies the itinerary of the city tour "Linha Turismo South Side", offered to Porto Alegre citizens and tourists to get to know the rural part of the city. The route through the South Side is a journey without stops that contemplates the natural landscapes of the city, with highlights to Ipanema Beach, some properties of the Rural Paths and the Sanctuary "Nossa Senhora Mãe de Deus", where it is possible to have a 360° view of the city. The research demonstrates how the route constitutes a memorial itinerary about the city through the provision of historical and peculiar information about the characters, neighborhoods, streets, squares, parks, monuments and the main historical and cultural attractions in the Tourism Route. It is concluded that the tourist routes help in the construction of memorial itineraries and the tourist narratives conveyed about the city and its cultural heritage, at the same time as they expose the repertoire of common knowledge and enable the process of memorazation through the activation of remembrances that trigger memories about the city.
