This work aims to analyze the professional trajectory of Pedro Adams Filho (1870-1935), a gaucho industrialist of German descent and one of the pioneers of the leather-footwear sector in Rio Grande do Sul. We will analyze the economic, political and community role of this business leader and, through his trajectory, we will outline a brief profile of the local society. Our intention is to understand some aspects of the social, political and cultural relations resulting from this productive activity promoted by Pedro Adams Filho. As a result of this trajectory, it is revealed how this descendant of immigrants was one of the drivers of the process of transformation of a local economy based, still in the beginning of the 20th century, on individual artisanal work to a productive process on an industrial scale. In addition, we are willing to analyze how these movements may have driven the construction of new urban and industrial structures in the productive chain of the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
