Judicializing the conflict and building rights: the experience of sugar workers in labour justice. Tucumán during the first Peronist period.

Resumo: In Argentina, the creation of labour justice was promoted in 1944 by Juan Domingo Perón from the Ministry of Labour and Welfare and was part of a complex project aimed at deepening state intervention in the world of work. In the sugar province of Tucumán, the Labour Courts – born to settle individual conflicts between workers and employers – began operating in 1948. The study of their sentences illuminates the plot of demands and bids of senses that modelled labour rights during the first Peronist period. In this sense, the objective of this article is to analyze the judicialization of the sugar conflicts to explain a central problem of the time: the negotiated process of formulation of rights and definition of the depositary subject of them, as well as the way in which that construction resigned the worker experience.
