Resumo: | This article exhibits an investigation relative to the policies about the past that the European Union has constructed in the last years, as well as its intelectual and political precedents. To do this, it analyses the new management instrument of the past created by the EU: “The House of European History”. The research developed shows that the history expressed in the permanent exhibition of the new museum, aims to establish the foundational myth of a European nation and its supposed identity. Finally, it describes the pressure from Eastern European countries to install, in the European policies management of the past, its own and exclusive version of European memory as the only posible memory that all Europeans must adopt. |
