Resumo: The article reports the research carried out with Última Hora Newspaper, Porto Alegre, which circulated in the State of Rio Grande do Sul from 1960 to 1964. The text rebuilds the investigation trajectory that had as main theme the representations built about the crime in the periodical, highlighting the challenges faced in the occasion and the methodological options made throughout the work.
