Family albums, an experience of teaching and fashion historical research

Resumo: This article discusses the results achieved by the teaching and extension project entitled "Family Album", developed since 2005 at the University of Santa Catarina, with the third semester students of the bachelor in Fashion Design. Among other points, we report the successful experience and discuss the intrinsic possibilities that photography has as a teaching resource, by presenting the development methodology, the theoretical support that leads the teaching and extension project, and also the testimony from two academics that did the project in different years (2006 and 2008). An example of the analysis provided by the study of family photography versus the consumption of fashion trend further enriches the present text.

Dentre outros pontos, é relatada a experiência exitosa e são discutidas as possibilidades intrínsecas que a fotografia possui como recurso didático, apresentando a metodologia de desenvolvimento, o referencial teórico que conduz o projeto de ensino e extensão e, ainda, depoimentos de duas acadêmicas que realizaram o trabalho em anos distintos (2006 e 2008).
