Resumo: This article aims to analyze the aldeamento do Maracanã, located on the coast of the captaincy of Pará, during the XVII century. Based on several documents, we intend to analyze the political relations that involved the villagers. Encompassing conflicts, negociations, and multiple interests, brought together diverse agents (Indians, indigenous leaders, Jesuits, colonial authorities, local elites, among others), but, about the community stability, fundamentally were dependent on the agreement between colonial indigenous officers (the mentioned leaders) and the other Indians.
