Resumo: | The text discusses the relationship between the Mestre Dezinho Handicraft Center and rock festivals, held in the city of Teresina, capital of Piauí, Brazil, in the period between the 1980s and 1990s. Configured as one of the main cultural spaces in the city, in the time frame of the research. It is based on imagery, hemerographic sources and written memorialistic records, such as poems and reports on the history of rock music in the city. It follows the theoretical reflections of Sandra Pesavento (2007), to discuss the issues of the city; Lucilia Delgado (2006), Jacques Le Goff (2003), Ricœur (2007), to discuss issues of history and memory; and Roger Chartier (2002), to discuss representation issues. The work pointed out the rock festivals, held throughout the city, especially the event that took place at the Craft Center, as a practice that highlights the interaction between people and spaces and that promotes the emergence of the urban ethos, configuring the city not only for its material constructions, but mainly due to the way of life of the human beings that inhabit it. |
