Resumo: The article presents some reflections on the rebellion led by the chief shaman and Nezu, 1628, in the region of Pirapo, now Rio Grande do Sul against the missionaries of the Society of Jesus. From the letters / reports of the Jesuits and the proceedings to investigate the deaths of the missionaries, we interpret the reasons why the Indian leader to rebel against the reductions and plotting the death of Father Roque González, Juan Rodriguez and Alonso del Castillo.
