METODOLOGIAS DE EXPRESSÃO ARTÍSTICA EM IDOSOS FREQUENTADORES DE UM CENTRO DIA: UMA ANÁLISE BIOGRÁFICA

The aging process brings with it a series of discomforts, one of which is caused by the reduction in sensory acuity. From this perspective, all relationships established between individuals and the world occur through sensory functions. The aim of this study was to analyze different methodologies of artistic expressions and their relationship with artistic practice and with the development of perceptual potentials in the elderly. A qualitative, non-experimental, exploratory, descriptive and transversal methodology was chosen. The convenience sample consisted of eight elderly people, with a mean age of 86 years (SD= ± 7.66). participants of a Day Center for the elderly. The elderly were evaluated by characterization and development instruments to characterize the sample and instruments to monitor the development of the elderly over time (sensory evaluation). The methodological procedure consisted of six steps: a) recruitment; b) gathering information about the participants; c) initial interview; d) introduction dynamics to artistic appreciation; e) evaluation of the sensory profile; and f) workshops. The reports were analyzed using the biographical method. The results corroborate studies that indicate sensory interventions as important promoters of psychological, emotional and social gains. It is also concluded that the flexible and playful character of art brought about a break with standards that characterize things as good or bad, promoting the appreciation of all productions as unique that attributed value due to their expressive nature.
