Resumo: In this article, we observe the appropriations constructed from President Jair Bolsonaro's speech in the episode, here titled "Gravedigger", in which he refers to the number of deaths from covid-19. The purpose is to investigate how meanings are constructed from the circulation of the president's speech and the social tensions that emerge from his speech. To do so, we adopted as a method the movement of following the traces of circulation based on an emphasis on discursive semiology. The corpus of analysis is composed of journalistic reports and publications by social actors in digital networks. Our theoretical contribution is directed to reflections on image, mediatization, appropriations, and circuits, with the aim of showing the dynamics of the circulation of meanings.

O propósito é investigarmos como são construídos os sentidos a partir da circulação do discurso do presidente e das tensões sociais que emergem de sua fala. Para tanto, tomamos como método o movimento de seguir os rastros da circulação a partir de uma ênfase na semiologia discursiva. O corpus de análise é composto por reportagens jornalísticas e publicações de atores sociais em redes digitais.
