Resumo: This paper intends to discuss the coverage carried by the portal VEJA.com on the attempt to mediate an agreement made by Brazil, along with Turkey, about the Iran´s nuclear issue in 2010. From the perspective of the international journalism works as pedagogical instance (TRAQUINA, 2000), we were interested to understand how international news is related to the institution of knowledge about the "other." We seek the social representations theory developed by Moscovici (2003) for analysis of the news published on the website about the relationship between the Brazilian and Iranian states.

Desde la perspectiva de que el periodismo internacional funciona como instancia pedagógica (TRAQUINA, 2000), nos interesa compreender cómo las noticias internacionales se refieren al conocimiento de la institución del "otro". Buscamos la teoría de las representaciones sociales elaborada por Moscovici (2003) para el análisis de las noticias publicadas en el sitio sobre la relación entre los Estados brasileño e iraní.O presente texto pretende refletir sobre a cobertura realizada pelo portal VEJA.com da tentativa de mediação de um acordo realizada pelo Brasil, em conjunto à Turquia, acerca da questão nuclear do Irã em 2010. Sob a perspectiva de que o jornalismo internacional funciona como instância pedagógica (TRAQUINA, 2000), nos interessamos por compreender como o noticiário internacional se relaciona à instituição do conhecimento acerca do ‘outro’.
