Resumo: The phenomenon of border demands a complex exercise in order to be analized, a necessary condition to understand the questions that involve happening social practices, specially in the conurbated and half-conurbated urban areas. Through the 'reading' of the local print media it is possible to identify grounding elements of a culture forged in the contact surfaces between distinct nations that inhabit the same surroundings, where (undeniably) there is a constructed identity distinguished from other not-frontiersmen’s identities. This paper aims to bring some indexes present in local periodicals of the national borders of Brazil with its neighbors - Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay and Bolivia -, to continue the debate on which are the main “visible” characteristics in manifestations of the social commitments, shapers of the culture and the ' spirit ' of the place.

Condición necesaria para comprender las cuestiones que envuelven las prácticas sociales en curso, sobre todo en las áreas urbanas conurbadas y semiconurbadas. A través de la lectura de la prensa local es posible identificar elementos fundantes de una cultura forjada en los puntos de contacto entre distintas naciones que habitan el mismo ambiente, en el cual (innegablemente) hay una identidad construida que se distingue de otras nofronterizas. La propuesta de este paper consiste en traer algunos índices presentes en medios locales de fronteras nacionales del Brasil con sus vecinos: Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay y Bolivia. Esto para proseguir el debate sobre cuales pueden ser consideradas las principales características y manifestaciones “visibles” en los compromisos sociales, como formadores de la cultura y del “espíritu” del lugar.Analisar o fenômeno fronteira exige um exercício complexo, condição necessária para compreender as questões que envolvem as práticas sociais em curso, sobretudo nas áreas urbanas conurbadas e semi-conurbadas. Através da “leitura” da mídia impressa local é possível identificar elementos fundantes de uma cultura forjada nos pontos de contato entre distintas nações que habitam o mesmo ambiente no qual (inegavelmente) há uma identidade construída que se distingue de outras não-fronteiriças.
