The construction of the title on magazine covers: a discussion about the format in nine years of TPM

Resumo: This article seeks to understand seeks to understand the process of stylistic construction in magazine titles, having as a cutout the TPM magazine. Although it is a punctual design and does not effectively cover all the norms for a title in this support, the proposal intends to contribute to the understanding of its structuring manifestations, having as a design a segmented vehicle with monthly periodicity. To the study, 527 titles (headlines) were collected, published on the covers of nine years of publication. The study adopted as a methodological basis the descriptive research, based on the Content Analysis tool. Conclusively, the study points to writing patterns that are very different from those usually adopted in news content titles, both in print newspapers and on websites, and widely discussed in writing manuals and in specialized literature.

Ainda que seja um delineamento pontual e não abarque, efetivamente, todas as normas para um título neste suporte, a proposta pretende contribuir para o entendimento de suas manifestações estruturantes tendo como desenho um veículo segmentado e de periodicidade mensal. Para o recorte do estudo foram coletados 527 títulos (manchetes), publicados nas capas de nove anos de publicação. O estudo adotou como base metodológica a pesquisa descritiva, alicerçada no ferramental da Análise de Conteúdo.
